Surely They Can't be Serious.......

I received an email from a solar company today with this link to an article in the media outlining the government's intention to scrap the RET (renewable energy target).....
They think we should continue with masses of this !!!..........................

Instead of aiming for this where possible.........................

Or this...........
Is this logical???....I am so mad that money drives every decision that this current government makes......what is wrong with people !

  1. As much as I totally agree with your sentiments, I'm afraid that it all comes down to practicality. It is a sad fact that we could no longer exist without electric power or oil, and the cheapest way to produce the vast amount of power we need is through oil, or coal, or nuclear power stations. Wind turbines are unbelievably inefficient, solar panels last for only a few years and cost a fortune, and wave power has yet to be tested. I'm afraid we are stuck with smoke stack for the moment. However, those of us who really care for our little planet can do our best not to add to the mess. I know that my electricity comes from a nuclear power station near Toulouse, but I use the MINIMUM.

    1. Australia has so much sun and space for wind turbines...I am so glad we don't have nuclear power here either...our country chooses to burn coal because it is cheap and plentiful. Hopefully someone our there is working on a healthy solution.

  2. You are right Suzie Australia is so well placed to be a the front of the solar power industry and like Cro says they might be expensive now but with them becoming more wide spread and technology improving they should get cheaper and last longer. If only we invested in them.
